WoW Upgrades - The item upgrades Upgrader

Upgrades give you an increase in specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.

The more modernized gear generally has a greater value for trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item upgrader mod level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

The cost of upgrades will depend on the current level of the item being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than buying new equipment from other sources. For instance, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points while purchasing the same item upgrade from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that are used to level up weapons and tools, armor and other items. They can be purchased by players from item upgraders NPCs for a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any weapon, tool or armor. The button will display the Item Level Upgrade's next upgrade level if there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the item slot, and the current item level. For example weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain amount, it can be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currency types.

Upgraders for items are available at many locations on the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade items discount and the chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases depending on the amount of items being upgraded. It is also possible to be increased by having players complete specific achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are available only via a variety of ways. This is both a benefit and a drawback.

In Season 3, the upgrade system was tweaked a bit, with numerous new features added. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a specific level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading further items to the same level will cost less, even when they belong to another set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain achievement milestones.

Crests

Players have a number of choices when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. The new currency system isn't complicated to use, but it will bring some changes to the process of upgrading. For instance, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible level on all of their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests in a wise manner, as they have only one purpose. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the top-quality equipment that you can find and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly applicable to items like trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The account-wide discount is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
