(1) To Koh Rong

Koh Rong is in the Gulf of Thailand, the same as Koh Samui in Thailand.

45 minutes by speedboat from Sihanoukville. It was over in a flash.

There was almost no major rocking.

We decided to have lunch at a restaurant on the beach.

(2) White Beach Bungalows

700m from the pier along the beach.

2-star. 2 beds and nothing but a shower and toilet.

About 10,000 yen/night for 2 people.

This is where I will be staying for today and tomorrow.

The Western owner says not to leave food outside because monkeys will come out.

(3) A lively night on Koh Rong

At night, the east coast of the island becomes lively in a different way than during the day. There are many foreigners, so it's very lively.

A short walk from the bungalow, we fill our stomachs at a restaurant floating on the water.

(4) Khmer Bon Odori

Water was being thrown on the beach.

It's one of the Khmer New Year events. We were also thrown with water hoses and buckets. Terrifying!

Fireworks were being set off on the beach.

Bon Odori venues were set up all over the place, and everyone was dancing merrily.

There seems to be a set step for the way the feet are placed when dancing.

It's fun just watching.

My wife and I also went to a foot massage place to rest our tired bodies that day. It was $10 for 60 minutes. Thank you. Every shop must make an offering to the gods. After a while, a girl suddenly started dancing next to the mother who had started giving the massage, while looking at her smartphone. She moved to the rhythm, and danced sharply. The girl's dance was sharp and sharp.

Everyone was enjoying themselves without feeling embarrassed. Cambodian people are all very cheerful.

(5) The next day, I went to the west side of the island by motorbike.

In the morning, I saw some cone shells being sold in Hamadori.

I'm sure they're poisonous and dangerous if you get stung. But they must be delicious.

This is a stingray. Maybe because the beach is wide. This one also has a poisonous stinger on its dorsal fin. While snorkeling on the beach, I saw several large stingrays.

I decided to rent a motorbike and go around the island.

It didn't have a license plate. You didn't need a passport to rent it, just a deposit. It was $15 a day. The deposit was $50.

The speedometer was broken, but it was a Japanese Honda, so it should be fine.

The roads around the island were paved.

The roads were very empty.

On the way, there was a development site (casino hotel?) of a Chinese company.

I hope nature is protected.

I came to a fishing village at the northeastern tip of the island.

There, I bought a slice of pineapple.

They cut it for me on the spot. It was $1. Very sweet.

(6) Sunset on Koh Rong

To coincide with the evening,

I went to "Long Beach" on the west side of the island.

It didn't seem to be well maintained,

but the sea and the white sand were very beautiful.

The white sand was actually singing sand!
