WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you boost in certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the item level by +3. A random extra substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.

The more modernized gear generally has a more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for those with higher variance due to the need to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item upgrading will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities and can be visited anytime to upgrade your gear. It is recommended to visit the upgrader every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current Item Level Upgrade level of the item being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than buying new gear from other sources. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapons tools, armor, and other items. They can be purchased by players from NPCs of item upgraders for a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor with a button, which will show a preview of the item upgrades when it is upgraded when the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item. For instance weapons cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain level it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

Item upgraders can be found in many places including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount as well as a chance to get a brand new upgrade item recipe. The discount for upgrading increases when more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.

Crests

Players have a number of options for upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests are only available for equipment with a certain rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and simplest upgrade is 15 crests. This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another significant change is that crests have one purpose and it's crucial to use them wisely. It is best to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can locate, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly applicable to rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to avail the account-wide discount if all slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
