World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses like PvE damage and crit chance.

For example, a weapon with the upgrade template that is ending in % will suffer 3damage to attack each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the item's current level. The cost increases as the item level increases.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, weapons and armor in order to give them a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. They can be acquired through crafting, buying from vendors, trading or looting. Some upgrades also have specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be applied to devices that have slots. The item must be at least upgraded to blue level before a component can be applied. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once and cannot be applied multiple times or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a type of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascending equipment, as as some non-ascended items. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear from the ascended, or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it is used on (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions using less upgrade item crystals than they require to achieve the same level with normal methods.

A 'boost upgrade' can modify the attack or defense characteristics of a weapon or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them from the cash shop or by collecting them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.

The player is able to have a maximum of five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-level version of the item will be available during the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep improving their equipment, even if they're unsure of how much they'll increase after a future reset.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process could be expensive, and there is a high possibility that the item upgrade will be obsolete or even break if it fails; a unsuccessful upgrade could ruin the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items to double or even eliminate the chance of failure, and a few upgrades that give a bonus when reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, and include any existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in many ways, and we recommend getting them to level 15 as soon as possible.

It is commonplace to see in the endgame that placing Glyphs is the best way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded up to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Glyphs, the sole upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and then replaced again are the most popular. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use and also through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the various Glyphs as well as some rare Glyphs that can be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you'll require them to be placed on your gear. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or bought from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to leveling up an item. Once enough points are earned, you will be able to claim your upgrade and get its extra bonuses.

When an item is upgraded by a player to a higher level, the original item is replaced by a new item of the same type. The same armor can be transformed into an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item upgrader kit will also have its own set bonus. This could be a drawback because it can cause the item to become more expensive if you do not need it.

The upgrades to items can be rerolled, if the player has enough reroll tokens in order to do this. The item will be replaced by an entirely new item that is based on a level 1 base and totally different bonuses. This can be useful, but should not be used frequently as it could waste resources.

Some upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their gear. One example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or does not swim as a dolphin). It can be upgraded multiple times, each time raising the maximum roll by an increment of 10. This item is extremely valuable in PvP. A well-rolled version can be worth 50 times the value of the unupgraded counterpart.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade the quality of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by presenting the appropriate items and currencies to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapons will increase the damage base as well as the required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

All items can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear that can have eight upgrades. Each when you upgrade an item it is given an opportunity to fail. The failure rate increases the more you exceed the maximum number of upgrades. Failures can cause the item to return to its initial state, which requires the player to spend additional resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar on its growth bar will be reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it earned like chances to be crit damage to attack, additional effects (such as a higher healing rate over time or reloading speed). However, the user can continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that, if a weapon gains an increase in the chance of crit the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. Slots is a brand new attribute that was added to item definitions. The amount of resources required to upgrade an item are dependent on its rarity score and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a standard equipment item could have five upgrades with a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero quality items have a lower cost per upgrade.

Premium items have different requirements for upgrading as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. The player will still need to bring every piece of equipment they wish to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each equipment upgrade will require different amounts of ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the cost mentioned above.
