Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet messes (spills and stains) in one session without having to swap out devices. They can also save space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot should be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the easiest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start manual can get you running in no time. You'll have a an entire dust bag, water tank, and hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at high speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, allowing for quick removal of dirt, pet hair, and dried sticky spills. The best automatic vacuum and mop cleaner has four power settings, a range of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app which lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For instance, you can choose to have the robot do a deep clean in the living and kitchen but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and its smart navigation technology are excellent too as the robot is able to detect tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. Its only issue is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at full speed. However, a quick look at the history of cleaning in the app will reveal precisely what the robot has accomplished, where it's going, and which obstacles he has run into or avoided.

A handy LCD screen on the docking station tells you when maintenance jobs must be completed, such as emptying the debris tray and cleaning the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank, with a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop can operate for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power which allows it to pull up finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners might miss.

As with the other two Roborock models I've tried the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to can help it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating a dual-camera that can identify objects, determining whether they are walls or other surfaces. It can then change its course automatically and clean them, without missing a step.

It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested and it comes with the most features. Its sleek and angular design is striking and has just three physical buttons: the power button, which also resumes cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically empties and the bin auto-refills.

The only downside I found in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if needed) however, it's a hassle to take off the mount itself to wash manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mount, which can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can configure and manage these via the Roborock app that is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app lets you plan cleanings and monitor the battery's lifespan. You'll need to jump through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame considering how efficient it is otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with cutting-edge features, high suction power, and advanced mowing capabilities. Its clever design permits personalized and efficient cleaning, while reducing time.

The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the top options available. This powerful vacuum can clean up dry debris, including pet hair and food particles. It comes with a mop of top quality that cleans hard floors without the use of a pad. Additionally, the X40 is quiet in it's operation, producing only occasional bursts of sound when switching between modes or when completing self-maintenance tasks.

Another noteworthy feature is the X40's expandable and liftable side brush that allows it to reach difficult-to-access corners as well as clean furniture such as table and chair legs. It can also get under low-profile furnishings, making it an excellent option for apartments with small spaces or condos. The side brush also automatically tilts down when detecting wet spots. Unlike other robots, which are limited to a single task, the X40 can best automatic vacuum cleaner and mop simultaneously. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas, or vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.

The app is simple and simple to use and the X40's intelligent features are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. It also makes the mop system more efficient. It's a system that we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuums and mop models, and it could be a great way of keeping your home hygienic for longer.

There's a wealth of settings on offer that include the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust a number of different preferences. The app lets you set these preferences or utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and offers a variety of options for customising your cleaning routine. It also has several functions that are not available on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects any dust particles.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design that has a white-and-metallic look that looks sophisticated and classy.
