World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses such as damage from PvE and crit chance.

If the template for upgrading a weapon ends in %, it will gain 3percent of its previous damage for every time it's upgraded.

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the level of the item rises.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons and trinkets in order to provide an additional stat boost or effect while they're in use. They can be obtained through making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades also have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to devices that have slots. The item must be upgraded to a blue level before a component can be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other mods can only be applied once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a special type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment as well as the non-ascended back items. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear from the ascended, or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade may have a prefix or suffix changing the name of the equipment with the upgrade (for instancefor example 'Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, allowing players create stronger versions with less Upgrade crystals than they need to reach the same level using standard methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defense attributes of the weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. They can be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear or buying them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals.

The player is able to have up to five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item upgrader will appear in the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep upgrading their gear even if they're uncertain of the extent to which it will improve after a future reset.

The process of upgrading an item could be costly and it's possible that the item will eventually become obsolete or even break if the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the risk of failure. Some upgrades also offer the player a bonus if they are they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, which includes any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as possible to level 15.

It is commonplace to see in the final game that placing Glyphs is the most effective way to upgrade your equipment. These are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded to level 15 and provide significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without any restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools, and through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you'll require them to be put on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus which will boost a specific set of stat nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs boost all nodes connected to them, which is why it is recommended to place Glyphs in the most important places on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For example, a Druid should aim to place their Glyphs near their primary damage points, but also think about placing them near crucial damage nodes as well.

Leveling

The upgrade system for items allows players to increase the effectiveness of specific items by putting upgraded components in them. This is referred to as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned an amount that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each item level requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or obtained from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns some Technology Points. These points can be used to leveling up an item. Once enough points are earned you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.

When the player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item is replaced by a new item of the same type. The same armor can be transformed into an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will also have its own set bonus. This can be a downside since the item may increase in price even if you don't require it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can roll the upgrade of their item. The item will be replaced with an entirely new item that has a base of level 1 and totally different bonuses. This is a good option for some items, but it's not something that should be repeated often, as it can use up a lot of resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled several times to increase their value, allowing the player to customize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants buffs when the player continuously enters or leaves the water. It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time raising the max roll by an increment of 10. This item is highly useful in PvP. A properly rolled version can be worth 50 times the value of its non-upgraded version.

However, the player can continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that, should a weapon gain an increase in the chance of crit the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. Slots is a brand new attribute that has been added to item definitions. The value is recalculated each time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a typical equipment item may have five upgrades at a cost of 25600 Technology Points, 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items are less expensive per upgrade.

Premium items may have different upgrade requirements from standard gear. For example they might require less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. The player will still need to carry every piece of gear they want to upgrade to NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine.
