WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boosts in certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.

Upgraded gear is generally more useful, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less useful for the latter due to the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each several weeks.

The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current level of the equipment being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than buying new gear from other sources. For example upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that can be used to improve the quality of weapons tools, armor, and accessories. They are purchased by players through NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for different currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool or armor. button, which displays a preview of the item at its next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

upgrade item costs vary depending on the item slot, and the current item level. For instance weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Many locations have upgraders for their items, including the main Island and a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of obtaining an entirely new recipe. The new currency system isn't difficult to use, but it brings some modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, once an item upgrade reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to get their gear up to the highest level possible for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another notable change is that crests have one usage therefore it's essential to use them wisely. For instance it's a good idea to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests with the best gear you have available and keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning to make.
