It doesn't also have a camera that can see around corners.

However, it's a good choice, especially if you want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot and have a bare-floored home or office. 3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

With a sleek circular design that looks like a regular Roomba than the competition's boxes This mop and robot vacuum is among the most appealing looking in our tests. The latest model from iRobot is its most advanced and has advanced features like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum to score 100% in our evaluations, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can completely autonomously refill and empty its base station and it boasts its own self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It comes with a simple mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This could be a problem in mornings before work, or during the night when you're trying to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally impressive and attractive. If you're willing to live with a little more noise and a little more cost, this is a very capable two-in-one that should delight most.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot mop and vacuum. It comes with a variety of advanced features that make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device like Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum and refills the water tank, and washes and drys mop pads.

The smart robot employs an array of LIDAR and structured light to draw out the floor plan and detect obstacles, navigating more intelligently than some of its premium competitors. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time hazards detection, though this wasn't foolproof in our tests and could be confused with obstructions or power cords.

Its vacuum has a high suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to finish the job. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vac works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home according to how dirty they are.

For bigger homes, it's worth opting for models with zone or spot cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean a particular area of your house via the app or voice commands. A stairway mode is useful if you have a lot furniture. For families with busy schedules, a recharge function and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum that vacuums and mops vacuum to continue from where it left off can be very beneficial.
