WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also boosts an unspecified substat.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less useful for those with lower requirements due to the requirement to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed forever and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.

The upgrader is located in every major city, and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your gear. It is recommended to visit the upgrader at least once every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

The cost of upgrading will be based on the current item upgrades level of the gear being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For example upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points purchasing a similar piece from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade tools, armor, weapon and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them from Best item upgrade upgraders NPCs for various currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. The button will show a preview of an item's next upgrade level when there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot for the item and the current item level. For example weapons cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain level, it can be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currencies.

Upgraders for items can be found at many locations including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrading increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. Instead, the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades are acquired via various methods that are both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3 the upgrade system has been modified a bit, and numerous new features added. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a particular item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading further items to that level will cost less even when they belong to an entirely different set of gear.

Crests

Players have several options for upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.

First, you must be aware that the crests can only be purchased for equipment that is of a particular rank. Each rank comes with distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and simplest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, contingent on the kind of equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by working through content at the appropriate level. Another notable change is that crests only have one purpose and it's crucial to use them properly. This is especially relevant for rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to avail the account-wide discount if all slots are full of high-quality equipment.
