Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The statistics of an item are improved by upgrading it, also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment provides a linear increase in any stat.

Players can recycle up to six items at a time in order to gain an ability to gauge the level of each of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling an item increases with its rarity and level.

Upgrade components

An item upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can boost the stats of your weapons and armor. This can be accomplished by many different methods such as using upgrade components as well as upgrading an item's mark levels or rarity. In addition there are many items that can be reforged to increase their stats.

Upgradable items can be found in the game, both within the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be crafted by players. Upgrade components are the main method to upgrade equipment. Select the item in your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. The value of the glyph is contingent on the tier and quality of the item that you are admiring.

Most upgrade components slotted into items can't be repaired or replaced without dismantling the equipment in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If, however, you have an unusable rune or glyph that hasn't yet been incorporated into your gear, you can move it to a different piece gear by using the Upgrade Glyphs context menu on the Glyphs panel. This will create an Glyph Set that includes the chosen glyph.

You can take out a glyph by using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item on which the glyph is installed will be destroyed, however the upgraded item can be salvaged using the glyph shards.

When you take away an item after adding a glyph the shards that are part of that glyph will disappear. You can also add a glyph on your equipment to provide an extra benefit. For example, the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and then deal it out slowly rather than all at once. Rerolling is a fantastic method to improve an item. However, players should be aware of the fact that the total ilvl will be decreased by the number of rerolls it took to get it to the final level. Players have complained that the reroll system is too expensive. It would be fairer to let people pay for it with cash or food items which would allow players to make changes to their builds without having to spend excessive amounts of time. However, paid rerolls are not something the developers are planning to implement at this time in the game's development. Leveling
