Known for his habit of impromptu singing, Fury regularly gained media attention for singing songs in the boxing ring after matches and during promotional events. In 2019, Fury appeared as a guest vocalist on English singer-songwriter Robbie Williams' studio album The Christmas Present, for the song "Bad Sharon". Inoue was supposed to fight against WBA champion Kal Yafai in a unification bout at the "Superfly 2" card in US. But Yafai's promoter Eddie Hearn turned down the fight, saying, "it would be Yafai's highest payday against Inoue, but the pay didn't mitigate the risk."

The middleweight division is for fighters who are between the weights of 154 lbs and 160 lbs. The division is one of the oldest in the sport and has continuously produced phenomenal world champions such as Bernard Hopkins, Marvin Hagler, Sugar Ray Robinson, and so many more. Still to this day, the division is producing the best champions and the best fights.

In December 2020, Pacquiao became acting party president of PDP–Laban, the ruling political party, when Koko Pimentel resigned. However, the position will eventually become disputed between Pacquiao and Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi. Alfonso Cusi's faction through a vote decided that Pacquiao is no longer party president of PDP–Laban on July 17. Melvin Matibag, the deputy secretary-general of PDP–Laban, defended the vote, saying it was organized because the term limits of the party's officials had already expired. Pacquiao is still regarded by his faction as party president.
