WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. A random substat is also increased with every upgrade.

Upgraded gear generally sees greater value for trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of weapon or armor. However, the item upgrade used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and is accessible at any time to upgrade your equipment. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader each couple of weeks.

Valorstones

Players can earn crests through completing tasks at the appropriate level. This could mean engaging in outdoor activities or taking on dungeons and raids of all difficulty levels to obtain lower-level gear or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons with a heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an item upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and routes.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it will bring some modifications to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it will no longer require Flightstones. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their equipment up to the highest level possible on all their characters, instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests wisely, as they only have one use. For instance, it's a good idea make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests with the best gear you have available and keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan to make. This is particularly true for items like trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character, that will be able to take advantage of the account-wide discount if all slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
