Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment using new accessories. They can also boost its base stats or add additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory, and also access the kiln.

Items with weak bases, such as rings, can be upgraded into a stronger base. Items with strong bases, like Titans from eth, have no change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components are items that can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, weapons and gathering tools, giving an added bonus or impact when the equipment is used. They can be purchased from vendors, found as loot by enemies, or received from missions and chests. Some upgrades can have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be above a certain point before they can be upgraded.

To upgrade an armor, weapon or other item upgrade in the game, players must select it and then click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. The screen will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade stats and the required component or materials.

There are three kinds of upgrade components including universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, like gems, can be used on any kind of equipment. They offer a lower bonus than upgrade components that are subject to a type restriction. Infusions are jewels that are only available in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They offer the same benefits as jewels, however they cannot be used with any other equipment. Suffix upgrades that can be put in gathering tools, add their name to the end of the name of the item they are connected to, for example adding an Glyph to a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor will transform it into a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the case of upgrades for gathering tools, if a player replaces one glyph by another the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component can destroy it, excluding inscriptions which can be freely swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important differences from previous versions. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can only be upgraded a certain number of times before they are "leveled out." The cost for upgrades is increased with each level, but the required materials do not increase as much. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a few key items and maximize their impact, rather than spreading out the upgrade costs across multiple pieces.

When an item is completed, it will be able to receive an upgrade item set of components, and a boost in the chance that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Energy, and it will reset to zero on failure or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

After a piece has been upgraded to its maximum level, it can receive the affixes needed to enhance its abilities. The number of affixes that are available is contingent on the item's base. For instance an uncommon or rare weapon with a normal base will only have two affixes available for it, while legendary armors will have up to eight affixes available for it.

Each upgrade step will require the use of a certain amount of Flightstones and crests to complete based on the item's current level and the slot it's in. Typically, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.

If an item upgrader kit fails to get to its maximum level The NPC will offer the player the option of transfer it to another character and re-infuse it with another set of upgrades. This process can take up to two hours and costs the same amount of materials but will have lower chances of success.

To measure the height of a building, engineers will utilize a level to compare the measurement against an established reference point such as a benchmark or the ground's elevation. This process is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the backsight rod and level and then turning the level to make the foresight rod reading. Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is an essential part of the game that can improve the strength, damage, or other attributes. You can do this via the item level upgrade menu or by pressing the Reroll button every time you upgrade an item. Rerolling items can be costly and should be handled with care.

The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, which are used to acquire Reroll tokens. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item upgrader kit or another similar item. Recyclable items come with an indicator of the level which shows how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The amount of level that has been filled is based on the rarity and the upgrade cost of the item.

Clicking the Upgrade button will show the attributes of the item as well as the necessary items needed to upgrade it. The attributes of the item will be displayed, along with any required items. For example the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also verify the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general the jewelry and weapons have greater value for trading when fully upgraded than armor. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with weapons-damage or spell glyphs.
