WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost in certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item upgrader kit by +3. A random extra substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like the eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less important for those with lower requirements due to the requirement to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader is located in every major city, and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended to visit the upgrader every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current item upgrading level of the equipment being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than buying new equipment from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for different currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be applied to any weapon or tool with a button, which will display an item upgrades's preview at the next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot for the item and the current item level upgrade level. For instance weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Many locations offer item upgraders which include the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon as well as the possibility of obtaining an entirely new recipe. Crests

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, but it does bring some changes to the process of upgrading. For example, once an item is at the highest upgrade items level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible ilvl on all of their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests only have one purpose therefore it's essential to use them properly. It is best to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the top-quality equipment that you can find and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is especially applicable to rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to benefit from the account-wide discount if all of the slots are filled with high-quality gear.
