WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost in specific statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. A random substat is also added to each upgrade.

The more modernized gear generally has a greater value for trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as important for those with higher variance because of the requirement to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.

The upgrader is located in every major city, and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear current, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item, but they will always be cheaper than buying new equipment. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for weapons, armor, tools, and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be applied to any weapon or tool with the help of button, which will show an item's preview at the next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot for the Best item upgrade and the current Best item upgrade level. For example weapons cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item Upgrader kit is upgraded to a certain amount it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, but it does bring some changes to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change is designed to allow players to get their equipment to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests in a wise manner, as they are only used for one purpose. It's Best item upgrade to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the top-quality equipment that you can find and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly true for items like rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character which will only be able to take advantage of the account-wide discount if all slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
