Pokemon GO Upgrade Items and Components

A special item upgrader mod can be used to transform certain Pokemon. The Upgrade is obtained by spinning a PokeStop photo disc. It's often given as a prize at Pokemon GO events.

The Upgrade can also be found in armor, weapons, trinkets and gathering tools to increase their item level. The upgrade costs Flightstones and crests, based on the item Upgrader mod type.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be inserted into weapons, armors, trinkets and other tools for gathering in order to add attribute bonuses or other effects while the equipment being used. Upgrade components are only available on equipment with an upgrade slot. Most upgrade components also require that the item to be upgraded is above a specific level. Certain upgrade items come with special effects that can be seen when they are used. Upgrade components can be acquired by crafting, purchased from karma merchants, traded with other players on the Trading Post, used to repair equipment, or as rewards in games.

There are a variety of upgrade components available, each offering a different bonus. Universal upgrades, such as gems and inscriptions can be used on any kind of equipment. They offer fewer bonuses than the other types of upgrade components. Infusions can be found in non-amulet equipment that is ascended and legendary equipment, while enhancements are utilized for certain items that have been ascended. Inserting an upgrade component can destroy the previous upgrade. The exceptions are glyphs (which can only be used in gathering tools) and enchantments, which can be removed and put back in.

Insignias Enchantments, insignias, and upgrades with prefixes or suffixes will be displayed in the hover display of the item upgrading, and they will be added to the equipment's name (e.g. an Radiant Insignia could change the name to Radiant Tyrian Armor). The tooltip of an item will show the number of upgrade components that have been added to it.

Glyphs

Glyphs are special characters that can be inserted into an OpenType font to add functional or decorative elements, like ligatures and fractions, ornaments, swashes registered trademark symbols and ellipses. The Glyphs panel lets you look up and insert these unique characters along with standard glyphs such as em dashes and en dashes registered trademark symbols and characters that are not found in other fonts (such as dingbats).

Each Glyph gives a character a boost in their primary stats. It also includes up to four Secondary Stats that affect the radius of the glyph on your Paragon Board. Secondary Stats are a %-increase that is multiplied when other bonuses are applied except for Speed Glyphs which directly increase the speed of the hero.

The Glyphs in your inventory can be activated by selecting them, and then clicking the "enchant" button. This will display a window with the Glyphs that are available to you. Be aware that only the correct kind of Glyph can be applied to the item you are looking for, as each weapon, piece of jewelry or armor piece may have an array of different Glyphs.

Glyphs can be improved by completing Nightmare Dungeons or completing Tree of Whisper quests. The more difficult a area is, the greater Glyph experience you will gain. Once a Glyph has reached the level 15 it can be upgraded on the Glyph Upgrade Altar. The upgrade of a Glyph increases its radius on the Paragon Board by one node every 15 levels.

When a Glyph is at the desired level you can activate it. Select it and then click the "enchant button". The resulting glyph will offer the stated bonus and also boost the other nodes in its range on the Paragon Board. Glyphs should be put where they can benefit your build the most. This is why you should prioritise Magic Glyphs as soon as possible. Rare glyphs could also provide double bonus when certain conditions are satisfied.

If you're having trouble finding a particular glyph click the cycle widget on the Glyphs panel to show the panel in a variety of different views. Each of these views displays the Glyphs using a different font. You can narrow the list of glyphs further using an option under "Entire Font": for example, punctuation displays only punctuation glyphs, while Math Symbols narrows the choice to mathematical symbols.

Rerolling

Rerolling involves establishing an account with a brand new username in order to increase your chances of obtaining the weapon or character you'd like. This can assist you in gaining more experience or to gain more loot, for example, an improved weapon for your character. Many players reroll until they get the characters they like, regardless of their power. This could be because they like the character's style or character.

Sets

A set is an object collection that has two common attributes (like the number or eggs in a dozen, or the members of a group). Sets permit operations like union, intersection and distinction.

When you upgrade a set item, it transforms into an entirely new version that is better than the previous one. For weapons and armor, this means it gains an increased base defense value and a lower strength requirement and a lower requirement for level.

Upgrading is an excellent way to bring popular single-set items up to the same level as their higher-tier set counterparts. Upgrades like Guillaume's Face Helm to Elite Spired helmet can boost the defense from 217 to 321 and lower the strength requirements and level requirements to a more acceptable range.

It's important to remember that not all items in the set are suitable for upgrading. Certain sets, like the FB Sorc spec's Whistan's Shield or Naj's Puzzler staff are already Elite and Exceptional in their own right and do not require upgrading.
