WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. A random extra substat is also added to every upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a greater value for trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The Item Level Upgrade upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.

The cost of upgrades will depend on the current item level of the item being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. For example, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points while purchasing the same item from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that can be used to upgrade weapons tools, armor, and other items. They can be purchased by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for various currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool or armor. The button will display the preview of an item's next upgrade level, when there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot of the item and the current item level. For example, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

This change is designed to allow players to get their gear up to the highest level possible on all their characters, rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

Another notable change is that crests only have one use, so it's important to make use of them in a responsible manner.
