World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can increase the value of weapons, armors and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.

For instance, a weapon with the upgrade template that is ending in % will take on 3damage to attack each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

Item upgrading costs crests and the current level of the item. The cost increases with the item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armor and trinkets to provide them with a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. They can be acquired through crafting, purchasing from vendors trading or looting. Some upgrades also have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to equipment that has a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to blue before a component can be used. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once and can't be used multiple times or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascending equipment, as as some non-ascended items. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it's used on (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of the equipment using fewer Upgrade Crystals than would be required to achieve the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defense attributes of the weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed mechanic. They can also be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear or purchasing them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals each.

The player can get up to five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade item increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of the item will be available at the time of the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to continue improving their equipment even if they're uncertain of how much it will improve following a subsequent reset.

The process of upgrading an item can be costly and it is likely that the item will be obsolete, or even break, in the event that the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that increase or even eliminate the chance of failure, as well as some upgrades that provide an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade components which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, which includes any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded in many ways, and we recommend getting them up to level 15 as soon as possible.

It is commonplace to see in the endgame that putting Glyphs is the most effective way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes more quickly.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced, however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without restriction. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed by using a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt has a chance to drop one of the various Glyphs as well as some rare glyphs that can be found in the form of drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs, you will have to attach them to your gear. Leveling

The item upgrading system lets players increase the stats of specific items by putting upgraded components in them. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with a level that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum of 385. Each level requires a different number of components to be reached and the cost of upgrading increase as the item gets leveled up.

Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained from the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or obtained from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns some Technology Points. These points can be used for the upgrading of an item. When enough points have been earned you will be able to claim the upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.

When an item is upgraded by a player, the base item is replaced with a different item upgrader of the same type. The same armor will be upgraded to a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own bonus. This can be a disadvantage in that it could make the item upgrader kit more expensive, even if you don't require it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, provided that the player has enough tokens in order to do this. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a new one, which will come with a level 1 base and a totally different set of bonus bonuses. This is a good option for some items, but it shouldn't be performed frequently, since it can use up lots of resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled several times, increasing their value and giving players the ability to alter their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants buffs when the player is repeatedly in or exits water. It can be upgraded multiple times, each time raising the maximum roll by an increment of 10. This item can be very useful in PvP battles, since a perfectly rolled version of it can be worth between 20 and 50x its non-upp'd value.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to increase the level of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets over ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate items and currencies to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces increase its base defense and upgrades to weapon items boost their base damage as well as their strength and dexterity.

All items can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear which can be upgraded up to eight times. Each time you upgrade an object, it is at risk of failing. The failure rate increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures can cause the item to return to its initial state which means that the player has to spend additional resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item does not upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it gained like chances to be crit attack damage, other effects (such as increased heal over time or reloading speed). The player is able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

If an item level upgrade is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that, if a weapon gains an increase in crit chance, the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the item's definition and the value is calculated every time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating as well as the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a typical equipment item might have 5 upgrades, each costing 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero grade items have lower costs per upgrade.

Premium items have different requirements for upgrading than standard gear--for instance, they might require fewer sowels but more minerals and erons. Players will still have to take every piece of gear they wish to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each upgrade will require an individual amount of ingredients needed to upgrade.
