Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The process of upgrading an item, often called "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment results in an increase in the linearity of a given stat.

Players can recycle six items at one time to get a gauge of the upgraded component of each item. The cost of recycling an item scales with its rarity and level.

Upgrade components

An item upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can boost the stats of your armor and weapons. This can be achieved in a variety of ways through the use of upgrade components or increasing the rarity of an item or its mark level. Many items can also be reforged to increase their value.

Upgradeable items are available all over the game, both in the world and as rewards for missions. Players can also craft them. Upgrade components are the main method of upgrading equipment. These are items that can be inserted into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with slots for upgrading, and many require a certain level of upgrade. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses while others give general bonuses.

There are many types of upgrade elements available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. If you have a glyph or rune you don't want to use, but it's not been applied to gear yet, you can move the item to another piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu on the Glyphs Panel. If you are looking to remove a glyph from an item you must salvage it with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool.
