Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to enhance their weapons and gear with new affixes that boost its base stats or providing additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item level upgrade in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Usually objects with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base, whereas items with strong bases such as eth titans aren't affected significantly in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor, trinkets and gathering tools, providing an attribute bonus or additional effect while the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, found as loot by enemies, or received from chests and missions. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level to upgrade.

To upgrade a weapon, armor or other item upgrades in the game, players will have to select it and then click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade stats and the components or materials required for the upgrade.

There are three types of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, like gems, can be put on any type of equipment. They provide a smaller bonus than upgrade components that are subject to a type restriction. Infusions are jewels that are only available in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They offer the same bonuses as jewels, however they cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add a suffix at the end of the item's name. Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from previous versions in some important ways. Gear is now categorised in tracks and each item is able to be upgraded as many times before it's "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level however the materials required do not increase as much. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a few items and maximize the effect of these items, instead of spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.

When an item is leveled out in this way, it is eligible for a new set of upgrade components, and an increase in the probability that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Energy and it will reset to zero in the event of failure, or increases when the upgrade is successful.

When a piece is upgraded to the maximum level, it can receive affixes to boost its attributes. The number of affixes that are available depends on the item's base. For instance, a rare or unique weapon with a base that is normal will have only two affixes available for it and legendary armors can have up to eight affixes available for it.

Each upgrade process requires a specific number of Flightstones or Crests, based on whether the item is at its current level, and in which slot it is located in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item doesn't attain its maximum level, the NPC gives the player the option to transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with a new set or upgrades. This process can take up to two hours and will cost the same amount of materials but will have less chance of success.

To determine the height of a structure engineers utilize a level to compare the measurement to an established reference point such as a benchmark or the ground's elevation. Rerolling
