Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The most effective way to upgrade your gear in Path of Exile is through item upgrades. This allows you to improve it without having to rely on expensive drops or trades. This article will show you how to upp your items effectively.

Upgrades in equipment can add a bonus to the item's base stats. This bonus scales with the upgrade component's level and rarity.

Components

Upgrade components can make your armour and weapons better. They can be obtained by destroying enemies, finding them in item spheres, or buying them from karma merchants. You can also get them from equipment containing the components or by using high-tier salvage kits such as Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components cannot be destroyed when you remove them from an item.

Upgrade components are typically used to upgrade an item but they can also be used for other purposes. They can be used to boost the value of an upgradeable item or they can be used to increase the experience gained by upgrading an existing weapon or piece of equipment. They can be forged for additional benefits. For example, a designed glyph will increase the upgrade chance of its target, while an upgrade boost will enhance the defense or attack attribute of a weapon or armor.

You can attach an upgrade template to an item upgrader by selecting it from the edition GUI. This will display the upgrade components that the item can be upgraded. Alternatively, you can use the workbench to select an upgrade template. In either case the item will be upgraded when enough upgrade components are gathered.

Each component has a unique experience multiplier. This determines the amount of experience an item can gain when upgraded using that component. For instance, organic components offer more experience multipliers than mechanical ones. You should upgrade organic components first until you reach the next rank in the weapon or equipment, and then move on to mechanical upgrades.

Each item has an upgrade limit number that can be received. The number of upgradeable items is determined by their upgradeable rank, and the type of upgrade they can receive. The highest level of upgrade is a weapon of tier 10. The most common weapon upgrade is a tier 6 gun and an armor upgrade for tier 5.

Sets

A set is a collection of items which share the benefit of. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least once and the upgrade will increase the guaranteed bonuses. The first time you upgrade an item, its primary stat will be +1. On subsequent upgrades, the primary stats are boosted even further (for instance +1 for 12+/13+/14+) and each time an item is upgraded, one of its stats will increase randomly.

The NPC will also provide an extra reward for every tier that is completed of the upgrade process. The reward can be rerolled a single time with the same materials as the original item.

Rerolling

A player can play rerolling any item that they acquire in the game if they have enough tokens. If an item is rerolled, it will be replaced with the same level in another set. Reroll tokens can be purchased in the shop for a small amount of in-game currency. They cannot be refunded. The new item upgrader mod will come with the same bonus features like the first, however the stats will be different.

Players can alter the identification of equipment in addition to rolling it again by interacting with an upgrader NPC. This will change the identification from a weapon to armor or vice versa, all the while maintaining its base stats and required attributes. The change is permanent and will affect all characters who own the gear in question.

The cost of the Valorstone and crest is calculated using the item's current Ilvl and the upgrade templates. The ilvl is also reduced by the upgrade templates lvl reduction percentage. For example the weapon that has an increase of 8% will reduce its count by 8-8%.

The item will be upgraded to other stats, such as critical strike damage, PvE damage, and block, parry and dodge rating in addition to the base ilvl. Those increases are also dependent on the upgrade template.

In the upgrade template, you can determine the amount of damage or defense that the item upgrade will suffer when it is upgraded. This is shown below the cost and upgrade percentages. All armor and weapons that are not practice equipment gain these stats upon leveling up. The market will determine the worth of these stats. A weapon or armor with perfect rolls can command a much higher price than an unupp'd version. The same is true for other pieces of armor like circlets and Tiaras.
