Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt) and wet messes (spills or stains) in one go without the need to switch out devices. They also can save storage space compared to having two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot should be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that let them automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's among the easiest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and an easy-to-follow guide will have you up and running with a clean, full dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in a matter of minutes.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops are spun at a high rate and employ 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app which lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For instance, you can, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models can't. The only problem is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at a high speed. However looking at the cleaning history on the app will show you precisely what the robot has done, where it is traveling, and what obstacles he has run into or avoided.

The docking station features an LCD display that displays the time when maintenance is required like emptying the debris and cleaning the water tank that is dirty. It is also able to mix detergent into the water tank by itself, using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time, with the mop capable of running for 184 minutes in Quiet mode, and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or return to the base to replenish. The app is simple to use and intuitive and lets you view every aspect of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's most popular robot vacuum and mop is the most recent version. It's not like the model from last year it comes with two agitators in its mopping pad which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to remove small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners might miss.

Like the two other Roborock models I've tried it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by having a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they're a wall or another surface. It is able to change its course automatically and clean around the objects without missing a step.

It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested, but it also has the most features. Its sleek, angular design is striking and has only three physical buttons: the power button, which can also restart cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can bring the robot vacuum best back to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin auto-refilling.

The only negative I discovered with this model was that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if needed) however, it's a hassle to remove the mount to wash manually. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot cleaner with mop touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and could cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these via the Roborock app, which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app lets you schedule cleanings and monitor battery life. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops in order to enable voice control on this model which is unfortunate considering how well it performs otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with innovative features, superior suction power and cutting-edge mowing abilities. Its clever design permits customized and efficient cleaning while reducing time.

The X40 is the first robotic cleaner and mop vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the best robot vacuum options available. This powerful vacuum can clean up pet hair, crumbs and other dry messes. It also comes with a top-quality mop that makes hard floors sparkling clean, even with a wet pad. In addition the X40 is extremely quiet during it's operation, producing only occasional squeaks of sound when switching between modes or when completing self-maintenance tasks.

The X40 also comes with a side brush that can be extended and lifted. This lets it reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture with curved edges like chairs and table legs. It also allows the robot to reach under low-profile furniture, making it a great option for smaller apartments and condos with tight spaces. The side brush automatically tilts down when it spots wet spots. This is a wonderful feature that enables the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through excessive back-and forth movements.

In contrast to other robots that are limited to a single task, the X40 can vacuum and mop at the same time. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas or vice versa. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is simple to use and understand and the X40 has many smart features that are simple to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, view mapping and floor plans and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to clean and has numerous features that make it an ideal choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, cleans mop pads and refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It can also tell when the mop pad is overflowing and notify you when it overflows, thus reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive available and comes with many extra features that distinguish it from. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub that utilizes two mops that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and it has an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also vacuum up pet hair, small dirt particles, and clean up spills and dirty spots.

The mop is cleaned and dried at the base station each time they are used. This feature is great because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours from building up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen on other robot vacuum and mop models. It could be a great method to keep your home clean longer.

There's a wealth of options available, including the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust a number of different preferences. The app allows you to set these preferences or you can utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and provides a variety of options to customize the cleaning routine. Additionally, there are many features that other robots don't have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles, instead of using the manual setting.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on market, sporting metallic and white colors that looks elegant and classy. It's heavier than the other two-in-one robots on this list - at 4kg but it's not too heavy, and feels sturdy and well-built. Mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mops work well on hard floors and in corners. They can even extend up to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice feature.
