World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like Crit chance and damage from PvE.

For instance a weapon that has the upgrade template ending in % will suffer 3% attack damage every time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with the item's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into armor, weapons, and trinkets to provide an extra stat boost or impact while they're being used. These can be obtained by making crafts, buying from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be placed in equipment that has a slot to accommodate them. The item must be at least upgraded to the blue level for a component to be used. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are kind of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or Ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging ascended gear or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade may have a prefix or suffix, modifying the name of the equipment with which it is used (for instance 'Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of the equipment using fewer Upgrade Crystals than is required to reach the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A boost Upgrade item is a way to alter the attack or defense characteristics of a weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them from the cash shop or by collecting them from enemies when upgrading other gear.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher tier version of an item will be revealed at the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear, even when they're not sure what will be improved following an update.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be expensive, and there is a high possibility that the item will be obsolete or even break if it fails; a failed upgrade will destroy Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the possibility of failure. Some upgrades also give the player a bonus if they are they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade elements that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes in the area around them, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as possible to level 15.

You will often find in the final game that placing Glyphs is the best method to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade component which can be upgraded to level 15 and give significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.

Glyphs, the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and then replaced again are the most commonly used. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.

Each Glyph has a certain range of values that can enhance a stat by. The value is displayed when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools and also through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the various Glyphs, and there are some rare glyphs to be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have the desired Glyphs You will have to put them on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus which will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs will boost all nodes that are connected to them, which is why it is best to place Glyphs in key locations on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For example an Druid should aim to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage points, but also consider placing them near critical damage nodes too.

Leveling

The system of upgrading items allows players to increase the effectiveness of specific items by putting upgraded components inside them. This is often referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned a level which determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires different components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or purchased from some NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to the upgrading of an item. Once enough points are earned you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.

When a player improves a piece of equipment, the base item will be replaced by an item that is new. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item will have its own set bonus. This could be a drawback since the item may be more expensive even if you don't require it.

The upgrades to items can be rerolled, if the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do this. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, with an initial level and a completely different set of extra bonuses. This can be useful for some items, but it shouldn't be repeated often, as it can use up a lot of resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled multiple times which increases their value and allowing the player to customize their gear. One example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player repeatedly enters and exits water (or swims like dolphins). This item can be upgraded many times by increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item can be very useful in PvP battles, since an item that is properly rolled it can be worth between 20 and 50x its value if it is not upgraded.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the level of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by offering the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase the base defense of the item, and upgrading weapon equipment will increase the base damage and the strength and dexterity required to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

All items can be upgraded a maximum of five times, except for hero gear which can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Every when you upgrade an item upgrade it has a chance to fail--the failure rate increases the more you go over the maximum number of upgrades. Failures can cause the item to revert back to its original state, which will force the user to spend more materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the highest number of upgrades.

If an item is not able to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it has gained, such as crit chance attack damage, other effects (such as increased heal over time, or the speed of reloading). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it receives a crit chance boost, the increase will be applied prior to any damage from attacks increases. Slots is a new attribute that has been added to the definitions of items. The value is calculated every time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is dependent on its rarity score and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading equipment that is not premium is equal to its value. For example an item of common use could have five upgrades at a cost of. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero quality items have a lower cost per upgrade.

Premium items have different upgrade requirements than standard gear--for instance, they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. The player will still need to bring every piece of gear they wish to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each upgrade of equipment requires different amounts of upgrade ingredients in addition to the costs that are listed above.
