Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt) and wet mess (spills or stains) in one go without the need to switch out devices. They can also help save space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has a lot to offer for its modest price and is one of the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start guide gets you running in no time. It comes with a full dust bag, water tank and a hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that is able to clean up a storm and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops spin at fast speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of pet hair, dirt and dried sticky spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a variety of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app that lets you pick the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For instance, you can decide to let the robot clean up the living and kitchen areas but be careful with the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to recognize small obstacles that other models cannot. The only problem is that it tends to crash into objects and walls at full speed. However looking at the history of cleaning on the app will reveal exactly what the robot completed, where it's going, and which obstacles it has encountered or avoided.

A convenient LCD screen on the docking station tells you when maintenance jobs must be completed like emptying the debris tray, and washing the water tank that is dirty. It is also able to mix detergent into the water tank by itself, using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time, with the mop capable of operating for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode, while the automatic vacuum cleaner is able to do 136 minutes in normal mode before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. The app is easy to use and intuitive and lets you see every aspect of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's flagship robot auto vacuum and mop and mop. Unlike last year's model this one has two agitators in its mopping pad which greatly improves carpet cleaning abilities. The power button, which restarts the cleaning process, a mop button that doubles as a child-lock, and a home-button to take the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin fills up automatically.

The only downside I've discovered with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth when needed, but it's difficult to take the mount off for manual washing. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and that can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can configure and manage these through the Roborock app, which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to plan cleanings and monitor battery life. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops to allow voice control with this model, which is a shame considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop equipped with outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its innovative design lets you to personalize and efficiently clean while reducing time.

The X40 Robot vacuum (marvelvsdc.Faith) cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum is able to clean up pet hair dust, crumbs and any other dry messes. It comes with a mop that is top quality that cleans hard floors without the use of pads. The X40 is also very quiet in operation with only occasional bursts during mode changes or self-maintenance.

The X40 has a side brush that is able to be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean curved furniture such as table and chair legs. It also lets the robot to access furniture that is low-profile, making it a great option for apartments or condos with tight spaces. The side brush also automatically tilts down when detecting wet spots. This is a nice feature that assists the X40 avoid damaging floors with excessive back-and-forth movements.

Contrary to other robots which only focus on one task, the X40 is capable of performing mopping and vacuuming at the same time or separately. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas or reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.

The app is user-friendly and simple to use, and the X40's smart features are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, see floor plans and mapping, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also track its progress, and alert you when it is finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many features that make it an excellent option for busy families. The docking station can automatically empty the dustbin, and clean the mop pads, then refill them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It can also detect when the mop pad is full and notify you before it overflows, thus reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive models available however, it comes with numerous extra features that set it apart. Its mops have a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to clean floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and it comes with a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can vacuum mop cleaner robot up pet hair and small dirt particles - and also pick up spills and wet spots.
