You can, for example ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models can't. The only issue it has is that it can crash into walls and objects at full speed - but an instant glance at the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading, and which obstacles it's run into or avoided.

The docking station has a handy LCD screen that shows the need for maintenance like emptying the debris and rinsing the water tank that is dirty. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank, with a 600ml bottle of eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can run for 136 minutes in normal mode, prior to needing to recharge or returning back to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive that lets you view every aspect of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop is the most up-to-date version. It's not like the model from last year this one has two agitators in its mopping pad which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to pull up fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners may be unable to pick up.

As with the two other Roborock models I've tested, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to helps to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates two cameras that can recognize objects, and determine if they're walls or other surfaces. It is able to change its direction automatically and clean around the objects without missing a step.

It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested, but it also has the most features. Its sleek, angular design is striking and comes with three physical buttons. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning process mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles up as a child-lock, and a home-button to take the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml of water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin automatically refills.

The only negative I found with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's a challenge to take the mount off for manual washing. I've found any plush carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mounts, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can configure and manage these via the Roborock app that is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and track the battery's lifespan. However, you'll have to go through a few hoops in order to enable voice control with this model, which is a shame considering how well it performs otherwise.
