It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle, however. If you need to clean the mopping pad, it can be swapped for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming capabilities into an elegant, compact package. 3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

With a sleek circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba than the competitors' boxy units this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive designs in our reviews. The newest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's also the sole robot vacuum/mop that scored the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our testing. This is due to a combination high-tech sensors, including a structured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot vacuum cleaners reviews we tested that is fully self-refill and empty its base station, and it boasts its own self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It comes with a simple mobile application interface, and it integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only real drawback is that it's an eerily noisy device, which can be an issue if you use it in the morning before work or in the evening as you attempt to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive, but it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally capable and better-looking. This is a two-in-one vacuum that is very efficient however it's going to cost you more and make more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot vacuum and mop. It comes with a variety of advanced features that make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device, similar to Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically empty the vacuum's bin and fills up the water tank, as well as washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot employs a combination of LIDAR and structured light to map out the floor plan and detect obstacles, and navigates more effectively than some of its premium rivals. It also mops with one pad and a rotating motion that cleans better that most mop cleaners for robots that we've tested. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and a self emptying, washable base.

The iRobot app is designed to help you navigate the mapping process that collects data on your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, arrange a spot clean or to prioritize your most filthy rooms for better performance. The app offers a variety of features, including seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, which means it can get to corners and underneath furniture better. It is equipped with a powerful 8000 Pascal suction as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also set up a spot-clean which will thoroughly clean an area.
