WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also boosts an unspecified substat.

The upgraded gear is usually more useful, unless the Best item upgrade has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as valuable for those with lower requirements due to the need to roll the perfect version.

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.

Using these new currencies isn't too complicated, but the system does introduce some changes to the overall upgrade process. Once a piece of gear reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it will no longer require Flightstones. This change allows players to upgrade item their equipment to the highest level possible on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests with care, since they have only one purpose. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the highest-quality gear that you can find and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially relevant for rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, that will be able to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all slots are full of high-quality gear.
