World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of weapons, armors and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and PvE Damage.

If the weapon's upgrade template is %, it will gain 3% of its previous damage for every time it's upgraded.

The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the current level of the item. The cost rises with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, weapons and armor to give them a stat boost or add a bonus effect. They can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be placed in equipment that has a slot for them; the item must be at least upgraded to the blue level in order for the component to be applied. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a special type of upgrade component that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it is applied to (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia',' changes to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players to make stronger versions of the equipment that require the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than is required to reach the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A boost upgrade is a way to modify the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. If the player has enough tokens, they can reroll Best item upgrader upgrades. The item will be replaced with a brand new one that has a level 1 basis and totally different bonuses. This can be useful for some items, but it shouldn't be repeated often, as it could waste lots of resources.

Certain upgrades can increase their value, allowing players to customize their equipment.
