WoW Upgrades - The item upgrades Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the item level by +3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.

Upgraded gear generally sees higher trade value, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect model.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item upgrade, but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest piece to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item from another player will costs 105.

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapons and tools, armor and other items. They are purchased by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for various currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists.
